Larva Hive Biome

Larva hives are maze-like sub-biomes within the The Clay Caves. Their ground and walls are made of a pulsating organic material tougher than Stone Wall. Slimes do not spawn in here, but Chrysalis ground and its larva spawns are much more common. Exploring these areas is the only way to find Acid Larva.

You may run afoul of Hive Spike Traps and Ground Acid Slime, which can be removed for safer exploration using a shovel or hoe, then potentially re-purposed. The murky yellow acid water here will contaminate regular water, if spread. But this can enable catching Clay Caves fish and items from within any other biome.
